Review highlights
Based on 5,138 reviewsNante-Eck | Restaurant Berlin Mitte is recognized for its authentic German cuisine and welcoming atmosphere in the heart of Berlin. Reviewers consistently praise the quality and variety of the food and beverage offerings, highlighting traditional dishes such as pork schnitzel and sausages, alongside well-curated drink selections. The restaurant’s décor and overall ambiance contribute positively to the dining experience, appealing especially to tourists. However, feedback on service reveals a mixed picture; while staff are often described as friendly and attentive, some guests experienced slow or inconsistent service, occasionally noting a less approachable management presence. Despite these service nuances, the combination of good food quality and a lively, packed setting makes Nante-Eck a favored spot for traditional German fare in a central location.
The food was very good as was the beer ( when they brought it to me ) . We have been traveling about in Germany and Czech Republic for 10 days now and service has not been great. Overlooked it a few times just because we were in no hurry and it gave us time to take in the surroundings. Today I will say I am generous in giving a 3 for service.
We came here for dinner without a reservation. Although there were no tables available inside, the waiter was very kind and did his best to arrange something for us. The restaurant was packed with tourists and had only a few staff on duty, but they were all very attentive. However, the manager, who was dressed in a suit, didn’t seem welcoming at all. We ordered the pork schnitzel, sausages, and two beers — everything was tasty. If you're planning to come with a large group, I recommend making a reservation.
Food was excellent. Very nice decor. But, sadly, a service theme we have seen throughout our travels over the past 10 days. This was the least service we have had and it was between a 2 and 3 star. Food was among the best German food we have had thus far. I really wanted to try the asparagus soup. Ordered it as soon as we sat down with a beer. Beer eventually arrived, soup ???
The food and beverage menu alone is exceptional, offering a wide selection for both small and hearty appetites. The staff is very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. I’ll be happy to return.
Everything is great. Food delicious. I didn't ask the name, but lady from Poland was incredible, helped to choose dishes which was perfect match for me. Coffee was not on top, but was not bad as well.
The food was delicious and the portion sizes were very generous. Service was quick, and we appreciated the chance to try some traditional local dishes. The interior was elegant with pleasant music, and there was plenty of outdoor seating. They also had a decent selection of local beers. Most German restaurants in the area are pricey, so I worried they might be tourist traps. But this one felt worth it. Overall, a great experience despite being a bit on the expensive side.
The food and the service were phenomenal. I had traditional sausage with cabbage, my husband had the soups and variety of sausages. We finished the dinner with a cup of three scoops of ice cream and apple strudel. Everything was just perfect. Our waiter spoke English and was very nice and attentive. Portions were good and the price were fair. We love this place and definitely will recommend.
